The 911 memorial light celebration ended tonight in New York.  I photographed lower Manhattan showing the twin lights and the new tower lit in red, white, and blue from a vantage point on the Brooklyn Bridge.  My son, Daniel, photographed the same scene from a different location that also included the full bridge in the shot.

This panorama was created by putting together two photos taken with a Leica M9 and 35mm Summilux lens.  The exposure was 2 seconds at f/4.
The two second exposure helped to blur the headlights of the bridge traffic and create the light streaks in the lower right.  Also taken with a Leica M9 and 21mm Elmarit lens, my favorite wide angle focal length.
This image and the one below were taken by my son, Daniel, from a different vantage point in Brooklyn.  They show the full Brooklyn Bridge and the scene in lower Manhattan.

Both images were taken with a Nikon D300s, an 18mm focal length lens, and a 4 second exposure at f/8.
