The library of Celsus at Ephesus is framed through the remains of the Temple of Hadrian. I managed to use my complete arsenal of focal lengths on this site. Here is a super wide 16mm on the Nikon D700.
This shot including a close up of a subscription framing the library in the background was also done with the Nikon 16-35mm wide angle zoom. I also used a polarizing filter to dramatically darken he sky and put detail in any highlights for all these shots.
This close-up of a Corinthian column and frieze detail was shot with the Nikon 70-200mm lens. For outdoor travel shots I try to work at the optimum sharpness aperture range of f/5.6-8.
