THIS SITE IS MOVING TO ANOTHER LOCATION:

This site has moved to another blog called, ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY. There will me no further posts to this site. The new site will continue so show my regular shooting progress, but will also contain other topics on photography, such as hands-on equipment and software reviews, historical information on photography, and much more.

When it was set up, the DAILY STOCK SHOT PROJECT was supposed to be a one year project. Last year I extended the project another year due to the popularity of the site, but now it is time to move on.

If you wish to continue following, please visit my new blog at ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY and save it as a new link.

Not sure where this idea came from.  I went out this morning and hit some local markets looking for inspiration.  Wholesome goodness is what hit me.  So here it is.

This is another one of those shots I put together because I collect elements.  In this case I had the map, the mouse, and an out-of-focus blue image of street lights.

I find myself looking for easy shots, right in front of me, on weekends.

I think this daily stock photo project will be helped along because I collect things -- lots of things.  I  usually pick items up because I like the way they look and want to photograph them.  I used to do this at flee markets.  Now I buy the same stuff on eBay.  Once I have photographed the item a few times, I sell it back on eBay and find something else.  As a result, the props don't really cost me anything.

Cloud computing
I keep a collection of useful images around -- in this case the computer screens, the sky with clouds, and the girl with digital tablet -- so that I can assemble conceptual stock images when I have some down time from my regular routine.

Ring-light shot of a girl looking at a digital tablet.  I have a regular, Profoto ring-light, but I also have a Ray-Flash for my Nikon SB-900 so I can do a really quick ring-light without having to drag out a lot of equipment.  I used the Ray-Flash here.

Daylight savings is the best time for sunset city shots because the
building lights are still on.

Grabbed this shot at the local farmer's market this morning.

During a break in our shoot, I took this model aside to grab a shot of her just laughing for the camera.
Another grab shot of the model while she was actually texting during a break.

Some magnifiers next to my desk.  I see them every day, but only now thought of taking a photo of them.
I couldn't finish this book -- too boring.  Hopefully I get my money back by selling the images of it.
Now you know what I was eating when I thought up this project.
